#TruthMoment: Embracing Impact and Momentum in 2025
Let me share a #truthmoment from my own 2025 story—a year full of transition, growth, and impact.
Earlier this year, I made a bold decision to resign from my full-time faculty position and dive headfirst into entrepreneurship full time. Yes, that’s right—I traded the predictability of a steady paycheck (whether I showed up or not) for the beautiful, sometimes messy, world of fluctuating revenue, where showing up every day is the key to success.
With this major life shift came space to pause and reflect. And during one of those pauses, a powerful word showed up—and showed out: IMPACT.
I’ve had the incredible honor of guiding brilliant women doctoral scholars through their successful proposal defenses and celebrating alongside fierce + bold women who’ve crossed the finish line of their dissertation journeys.
Amid the hustle—the long nights, the tears, the doubts—it’s easy to forget just how much impact we’re creating. Not just for others, but for ourselves too.
That pause to reflect reminded me why coaching women like you—who keep showing up even when it’s hard—is so transformative. You’re not just surviving this journey. You’re owning it, writing step by writing step.
And just in case you haven’t heard these words - I’m so proud of you!
Here’s how you can keep that momentum going this week:

REFLECT after each writing session this week by asking yourself, “How did I show up (and show out) for my scholar self today?” This simple habit nurtures momentum and self-compassion—two essentials for steady writing progress.
